How Long Does It Take?
How long does it take you to fall in love...
without a list of demands?
Is this life always about the things that you want...
thus, issuing self-centered commands?
It’s cast in stone that He has loved His own;
Just read; You’ll see that is a “given”...
and, yes, you can expect He won’t change His mind;
For you, He has made that provision.
You scream about training and scrutinize His Love;
You’re acting ‘the fool’, and it’s time to grow up!
You don’t mind presenting a list to Him...
of all of the things you expect;
You think it’s so good that you’re being honest,
have you become His big pain in the neck?
Thou, it’s true He said, “Command ye Me”...
but only in the midst of Love’s intimacy...
because that kind of love just wants to respond;
That kind of Love sees far beyond...
the oppositions, that we helped birth;
That kind of Love can conquer the Earth.
A rebellious wife won’t support her man;
She’ll withhold her love to control, if she can;
We think, “That is terrible; He should get a divorce.”
That’s what Israel did, when they tried to enforce...
a love whose foundation was only a law...
and demanded He stroke them, even thou they saw...
the sea open up so that they could walk thru;
His miraculous provision in all they would do.
Have we done any better? Have we entered in,
to the Rest that is paid for or demanded from Him...
all of the things that will give us our ease...
expecting it’s me that He has to please.
We have been given this great opportunity...
to respond to The One that will part ‘Our Sea’.
But, if our choice remains to demand instead...
you will sleep alone, in your self-made bed.
Your particular vision must be as His;
He will take you there, if you’ll do what He says;
No! This isn’t a ‘law’...it’s a ‘response’ to...
as He’s uncovering Himself with specific vision for you.
If you are His woman, you will follow your ‘Man’;
As He reaches for you, you will take His hand,
and go to the places that will cause you to grow;
You hardly noticed you’re the seed that He sowed.
This isn’t just for women to see;
He wants His man in that intimacy;
You were formed in His likeness,
so He’s given to you..His kind of authority.
I’ve often thought, it must be harder for men,
to walk in the authority given to them...
and then to maintain that same intimacy...
as he enters his woman, responding to see,
the Jesus in her with the Jesus in him...
individually and corporately prepared now for them.
The power of a woman can only be...
the power of the Love that she has with Me;
The power of a man, too, rests in this;
That kind of Love will never resist...
an order I’ve established in unity;
Love’s then multiplied in My Supremacy.
