Eating Crow
I was thinking of the saying, ‘Having to eat crow’,
as I recently had to do this.
I wondered where this expression came from
and, if there might be something to it.
Seems that I can give this scavenger flight
to eat the seed that I sowed;
The only way I can stop this bird
is to literally ‘eat that crow’.
Maybe that’s why Abraham drove them away,
to bring to reality,
all of the promises God had just made
about the way it was going to be.
This gives further insight to how it must be,
if I respond to His ability...
(and I’m not talking about, ‘name it and claim it’;) Rather, an action that comes from my heart;
Persuaded that He does care about me
and watching over each start.
In my case, the way that I set that bird free,
was not believing when I couldn’t see...
What God said is, and very much alive;
But I started figuring ways to survive.
I was in great fear where He said, no fear was
and I had to do something, was my thinking, because???????????????????????????
What gave that bird the right to fly:
Was not to ask my Father, Why?
So that He could really comfort me
and keep what I planted alive to see.
There was a bill due that I couldn’t pay;
Right then, life or death was in what I would say;
Because, what I say really comes from my heart;
to let life grow or give crows their start;
The way that it worked that particular day;
God had already instructed
one of His children to pay that bill but,
by that time, the crow was well into flight;
My words and my actions give it those rights.
Even thou, not wisdom, I’m sure you can see;
in the midst of fear and despair;
His watchful eye was still on me;
Proving again how very much He cares!!!
