Dear One,
I haven’t sent what I’ve discerned before...
and you may prefer that I don’t;
But, because I love you, I’m taking that risk
and asking that you, please, won’t...
throw this away, before you pray;
Instead, ask our Father what He has to say.
Because, you know He’s going to say something
and I really would like to hear...
whatever it is, He’s saying to you;
From His mouth to all of our ears.
It’s nothing short of a travesty,
when friends have separated,
to think only one needs fruits of repentance;
This lets me know: You’ve been baited!
Don’t forget, this took place in my home,
shortly after Jim died;
Each one demanded “fruits of repentance”,
so they would feel justified.
I suspect, had there not been a funeral,
where you had to be face to face,
This really wouldn’t have happened at all...
All these things that you’ve tried to erase.
How many funerals will we have to attend,
before forgiveness can re-instate friends?
So, the thing that I’ve always wondered about,
as we’ve all gone through many years,
When’s your turn coming? What has God said...
about raising this friendship (once there) from the dead?
Have you, like Pilate, washed your hands, in a form,
of responsibility?
It didn’t work for him and it won’t work for you;
Freedom’s maturity demands that you do...
exactly all that Jesus taught, if you want forgiveness too.
I’m not asking for me; I’m asking for you;
Your un-forgiveness has come into view;
When Satan comes with that stake in hand;
He has the right to stand on your land.
There’s only one way to drive him out:
Address every issue he talked about;
Thus, come to conclusions that will set you free...
to go on in His love and His unity.
Twenty years is a long time to push discernment aside;
But I had some growing to do;
I hope you’ll receive this with the love that’s intended;
I care very much about you.
