BOURNE (BORN) IDENTITY
You know the movie, Bourne Identity?
My all-time favorite;
Then, I started to see a parallel
And asked myself, Why,
I admired an assassin so well;
I thought, maybe I secretly like revenge;
Yet, that didn’t seem to apply to him.
He hired out to be a killer;
Thus this million dollar movie thriller.
But, hard as I tried, I did not understand
this great fascination;
‘Till I read in Romans
this paralleled explanation:
I’ve been being trained for responses to Sin;
The best of the best, exactly like him.
He had lost all memory of who he was
and responded to excellence,
win push came to shove.
Even when shot and thrown into the sea;
Seemed nothing could stop his destiny.
When he floated unconscious on top of the sea;
His strength didn’t rescue; His eyes didn’t see
the predators, obviously, swimming beneath;
The storm actually kept him away from their teeth.
His trip to find out who he really was
became his primary mission;
Isn’t that what we’re told?
Hasn’t that been the admonition?
Religion makes this so non-exciting,
with governing chains and rules,
But they forgot to major on,
who really we are;
That amounted to fools leading fools.
So, as I discover who I really am;
Can I be like Bourne (born)
and respond like him (Him)?
This was the thing that excited me;
That first, I thought, was just fantasy;
Is there a place that Their voice won’t speak
to fulfill Their motive, so that I will seek
this life of discovery, even though I’ve been shot;
Financed to remember all that I forgot?
The women, I noticed, got involved in the fight
and, even though scared, her future got bright.
He, of course, returned to the mate that had helped
when the timing was for her good;
They’d made memories in odds so overwhelming;
Can this be my story? If you would.
Romans Seven, verse six says, Serve in newness of spirit and not in the oldness of letter.
On the road of discovery to who I really am,
life is looking a whole lot better.
Lord, clear my mind of religious past,
every chain in that memory;
while We set out together on exciting roads
of ordained discovery.
You finally asked what I encouraged you to;
So, you know My response:
My priority’s you!!!
